KARACHI (March 11, 2010): All sugar mills in the country on Wednesday ended the sugarcane crushing season 2009-10, it is learnt. According to Pakistan Sugar Mills Association (PSMA), more than 70 percent sugar mills had stopped crushing on March 1, while the processing units in three sugar producing provinces, including Punjab, Sindh and North-West Frontier Province (NWFP), stopped production on March 10, 2010.
KARACHI (March 11, 2010): Rejecting extension request of American bidder for correction of Standby Letter of Credit (SLBC), the Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) on Wednesday awarded 50,000 tons of sugar import tender to the second lowest bidder, at $649 per ton. Sources said that after four days of opening of the fifth sugar import tender the TCP award tender to the Dubai-based supplier, Sadan General Trading, as the lowest bidder, American Investment Group (AIG), failed to correct the SBLC.

PESHAWAR (March 11, 2010): At least 14 people were reportedly killed in a suspected US drone attack in North Waziristran Agency on Wednesday night. Sources based in Miran Shah, agency headquarters of North Wazirsitan said that US drone in the first attack fired four missile on a vehicle at Maynza khel at Tehsil Dadakhela that left six persons dead.
LONDON (March 11, 2010): British oil giant Shell said Wednesday it had stopped selling petrol to Iran, becoming the latest major oil company to stop trading with the Islamic Republic. "Shell is not currently selling gasoline to Iran," a Shell spokesman said, quoted by Dow Jones Newswires.

It touched intraday high of 8,631.37 and low of 8,543.80 poinys and closed at 8,574.76 points showing negative change of -3.54 points or -0.04 percent. The volume was 98,387,134 shares, which was 76.96 percent of KSE All share volume and 91.1 percent of KSE 100 volume.
